January 12, 2006: NOT a vegetarian

For breakfast Veronika sometimes has toast with a slice of ham and hardboiled egg whites (because she won't eat the yolks). Occasionally she'll have that sitting on the couch watching Sesame Street. A few days ago I ran out of ham and made the same thing just with cheese. Veronika noticed and asked about the ham and I explained we didn't have it. Fast forward a few days and a trip to Stew Leonard's later:

Veronika (sitting on the couch with a plate of toast with ham and boiled egg white slices) yelling from the living room:
- MAMAAA!!!
- Yes?
- SCHINKEN!!! (Ham)
- Schinken?
- JA!!! DER SCHINKEN IST DA!!! (The ham is here!!!)
