December 20, 2005: Funny things she says

It's bedtime with Mama and Veronika wants to remind Papa he needs to leave the room. She points at the hall and says: That way, Papa!

She is learning to cross herself before prayers. In both languages, son and sun are pronounced the same, thus she will pray: Mumblemuble sun is shining and mumblemumble... AMEN! (In German as well: Blabla Sonne scheint und blabla... AMEN)

Yelling into Piggy's face: "Piggy! You BLEW it!"

Veronika, wo bist du? (Where are you?) - (Pointing at her chest) Ein me!

Lately she has taken to pointing in a general direction and just saying: "This!" or "There!" without ever specifying what it is or what she wants with it. To say the least, it's highly frustrating. So today we are riding in the car (at night) and she points saying:
- There!
- What? What do you mean?
- There, mama, there!
- Noni, you have to explain, I don't know what you mean, what is "there"?
She pauses to think and says:
- By this one.

Yeah, so now she's hitting me with definitions.

On our drive back home she says:
- Mama, Noni drive the car! (Which means, when we park in the garage, she can sit at the wheel and pretend she's driving. I usually let her, but not always, so she feels the need to anounce it before we actually arrive.)
- Ok, Noni wird Autofahren (German version of the above)
- Mama. Say: "Noni drive the car"
- Ja, Noni wird Autofahren.
- NO, mama! Say: "Noni drive the car"
- Ok: "Noni drive the car!"
- Good job, mama!

Mama: Let me wipe your butt, so it doesn't smell like pee.
Noni: No mama! No smells like pee! My butt is FINE!
