May 25, 2005: Ten Awesomest Things Veronika Has Done in the Last Month

In no particular order:

1) Learned to say her own name (click here to hear it).

2) Learned to say apple juice and be really excited about it ("Appow-jooce!")

3) Started to get really excited about going to the park. Not only does she shout out all the exciting attractions, such as the favorites of swing and slide ("Pock! Wing! Yide!"), today she was so excited that she was making nondescript agitated grunting noises while waiting for me to get ready.

4) Rode in her new bike trailer (to the park, of course) for the first time.

5) At the park, heard a passing car blaring Dr. Dre's "Let Me Ride," looked over to me and started nodding her head to the beat.

6) Started saying "Oy-yoy-yoy" whenever she makes a big mess, just like I do.

7) Tried to recruit Digby as a dance partner, grabbing his paws and all, after seeing some dancing on her Baby Songs video.

8) Tried to demonstrate the song "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" on Digby.

9) Put Mama's handkerchief on her head and did an impression of her, affecting an authoritative tone and yelling "Papa! Digby!"

10) Started kindergarten.*

* Actually this didn't happen, but at the rate she's growing, it seems like that will be any day now.
