May 10, 2004: Whoa Noni!
Please bear with me, I am a first-time-mother drunk on my daughter's achievements.
So, Veronika decided to say her first words on Mother's Day!!! How perfect can this child get?! We were looking into our reflection in the car and I was waving and saying "halllooo" (German) and she picked up her hand, started waving and said "aaah-oooh"! Oh, what a moment! She had also been repeating "oh wow" after us but I wasn't sure if it really was something, or more or less blabbering, but then she started saying it right after us and at appropriate moments: in church I gave her a book and she started turning the pages (it was a hardboard book) and she said "oh wow".
Another thing I had been trying to teach her was to clap and say "Bravo". She never wanted to repeat it, just smiled at me. Well, yesterday... she just started clapping out of the blue and saying "ah-woh".
I am just amazed how some things just happened within a few days! She's standing with a lot more stability and somehow manages to move herself around on the floor just by sitting on her little butt. Oh I just love this age! She is so bubbly and chunky and cute... drool. :)
