March 04, 2004: Why me?

Dear Daughter,

When you read this I assume you will be also old enough to talk and explain to me why back in March 2004 you decided you would not nap in the morning 4 days in a row (today is day 4, so it might be more). I'm sure there was a pretty good reason because it's not like you weren't tired. You always get tired about 3 hours after you wake up, you just can't handle being awake much longer at this age. You rubbed your eyes, you were yawning, looking at me with half-open eyes. You cried at Walmart, anxious to go home, you even fell asleep during the 7-minute-ride home. As soon as you started nursing you were gone gone gone. Why then every single day since Monday did you wake up exactly when I put you down in the crib? And I know you don't hate the crib because when I put you down at night you don't mind sleeping there one bit. Even when I nurse you at 4 a.m. you will go back to sleep in the crib.

WHAT THE HECK WAS WRONG?

I'm sure now that you can talk and you are a rational, considerate human being (thanks to you mother's excellent parenting) you will gladly give me a very reasonable reason so I know that all this screaming you and I had to endure was very well worth it. Right? Thank you.
