Oh, that was a beautifully sweet entry about her birthday! We also had birthday success in our household on 8-10. Because of the new baby this summer, I just couldn't/wouldn't do a party for her. But...(drumroll) I told her she could plan the *WHOLE MEAL* and then help me make it. Also, we would take it all to her grandparents' house, anake it there and eat with them, and then go to their awesome neighborhood pool that evening and swim.
You'd think I gave her the moon. She anticipated it grandly, and loved it so much that she talked about it for a week afterward.
Sometimes (well, often I think) simple is best.
I love how you made her a beautiful and delicious homemade cake. We did the same, and I let her decorate it with M&Ms.
Susannah picked spaghetti and meatballs and homemade bread. I found a good recipe to make the meatballs and sauce from scratch. It was a big hit!
Okay, enough rambling about my child. I love Nikola's new site and will try to remember to read over there too! Anthony was 13 pounds 6 ounces at 8 weeks. Sounds like they are on a similar growth trend! I just love reading about how laid back and wonderfully happy Nikola is. :)
